Last night was a rough night for Louis! Luckily, he's a fighter! He was so feisty, he actually ruptured some cells in his lung, leaking air into his chest cavity (a pneumothorax). He needed to have the air removed with a chest tube (siphoning the air with a needle wasn't enough) and he had to go on a ventilator to control his breathing while he heals. He's on some good drugs now and with his bili lights on (that's why he's wearing shades to protect his eyes) we think he thinks he's at the beach! He is doing very well now and mommy and daddy can breathe a little better too. He has a very small hole in his heart, a PDA, that likely will heal on it's own as he grows and is not affecting him right now.
Mom was discharged from the hospital and is continuing to heal -a little sore still and pumping like mad! Here's to a quiet night tonight!
