Here's Louis' first big boy bath in the sink (and not that sissy baby tub!). He can sit up by himself for a short time so he sit in his bath ring AND in his booster chair. As you can see, he loves a good bath and he is really enjoying bath toys now. Heck, he enjoys all toys as long as he can stick them in his mouth! In other big news (see how exciting my life is these days), Louis is actually *enjoying* solid foods and not spitting it back at me. Ok, so half of it still comes out with each bite...baby steps, people, baby steps.......

Let's see..nothing terribly exciting happening this week. I did manage to get some homemade applesauce in him for a couple of days and we tried peaches this morning-they were sent back to the chef immediately though I thought they tasted quite good! Oh yeah, he scared his Auntie Janet by asking her, "Where we going?" when she tried to take him up for a nap. I'm not sure we should let her booze it up when she takes care of the baby......wacky Canadians!

Here's Big Louie playing with his new fave toy-Dino! It has crinkly legs and a squeaker nose and Louis loves it. He thinks it's very tasty, too. Louis is almost able to sit up by himself now but he really really likes to stand up (with help of course). He is sleeping much better (for now or until those teeth move in a bit more) so he has more energy for his toys!

Louis' doctor thought he might be ready for solids, to help him keep up his iron levels (preemies don't get all the iron they need from mom in the last trimester.) So, we had sweet potatoes for dinner last night and saved some for Big Louie. I can't say he was very impressed-he still has the tongue thrust reflex so he would probably push just about anything out. We'll try again next month! For those of you gourmands, here's one for you recipe box:
Sweet Potato /Breast Milk Puree
2 Tbsp. Sweet Potato, steamed
1 Tbsp. Breast Milk
Puree sweet potato until consistency of paste. Mix in milk just before serving to desired consistency. Place bib on baby and large sheet on floor. Stand back...
